When an Angel comes and the shepherds call their flock, and they all cry ‘Let us go,’ this little lamb goes too and lies beside the baby, warming him with his fur. When the little lamb gives himself as a gift to the baby Jesus and feels him to be like a brother, we experience them both and all of us as the great family of creation.

And so the lamb becomes the symbol of “The Lamb of God”. “Little Lamb, who made thee?” (William Blake).
