The Star Carol

A shimmering Star, moving slowly through  dark skies, once guided  People and  Animals to the place where a Baby was sleeping. When the Star stopped still above him, shining its rays deep into the Earth, the Baby awoke, and the Earth awoke also:

 

‘Wake up oh Earth, see who you are,

Spinning in the Cosmos, just like a Star,

Playing your music, all through the spheres,

Circling the Sun for millions of years.

Songs of the Animals, songs of the Birds,

Listen to their music, follow their words.

Love one another, care for your home,

Do you know what song you’re singing?

Altogether we make Earth’s Song.

We are the world.’

 ‘Holy are we, Holy are you, And everything living is Holy too.’
